From Concept to Masterpiece: Behind the Scenes of a Specialized Printing Studio and Frame Shop
In the world of art and photography, bringing an idea to life and transforming it into a captivating masterpiece requires expertise and precision. Behind every stunning print or framed piece of art lies the skills of a specialized printing studio and frame shop. As of 2021, the global art market was valued at just over $65 billion in the United States alone, so the art market is large and vast. Here is a bit more information on what goes on behind the scenes to take your concept and turn it into a masterpiece with canvas printing.
Collaborative Consultation and Design
The journey from concept to masterpiece begins with a collaborative consultation between the client and the experts at the printing studio and frame shop. This stage involves discussing your vision, understanding the desired aesthetic, and selecting the appropriate materials and techniques. Experienced professionals provide guidance on options such as paper types and frame styles that will enhance and complement the artwork.
Precision Printing and Finishing
Once the design and material selections are finalized, the specialized printing studio takes over, utilizing state-of-the-art printing technology and meticulous attention to detail. High-quality printers, color calibration, and skilled technicians ensure accurate color reproduction and fine art printing. The selected image or artwork is printed with precision, taking into account factors such as resolution, contrast, and color accuracy. After printing, careful finishing techniques such as trimming, mounting, and laminating may be employed to further enhance the artwork's durability and visual impact.
Custom Framing and Display
The final stage of bringing the masterpiece to life is custom framing and display. The frame shop carefully creates frames that not only protect and preserve the artwork but also complement its aesthetics. The selection of frame materials, finishes, and matting is crucial in highlighting the artwork's focal point and creating a visually pleasing presentation. The frame shop team ensures precise measurements, secure mounting, and the use of archival materials to protect the artwork from environmental factors such as UV light and moisture.
A specialized printing studio and frame shop brings your concepts to life and transforms them into beautiful pieces of art that you can display. If you are looking to have canvas printing and framing completed for a piece of your art, we would love to make your idea come to life. Visit our printing studio today to get started.

Should You Get Custom Frames for Your Artwork?
A Brief Closure
We will be closed June 6th through the 10th for a bit of restructuring. The art supplies will be moving over to Creative Exchange and we’ll also be reconfiguring the store. We have a great deal to accomplish in a short amount of time, and to be realistic, we probably won’t finish. The plan is to complete enough to reopen on June 13th.
We are going to try to keep printing online orders in a timely manner, but part of this restructuring involves moving all of the computers and printers. So as a preemptive “thank you for your patience” during the next week or so, enjoy 25% off all prints ordered through the online Print Lab. Enter code SAWDUST during checkout between now and June 10th.
Promo code cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions and does not apply to gift certificates, print samples, orders already placed, or rush orders. What Are the Benefits of Framed Photos?
There are a million different ways to go about home decor. But one of the simplest and most effective ways to add some personality and style to your space is by using framed photos. Not only do they look great, but they also have a host of other benefits that you might not have considered. Here are just a few of them.
1. Memorabilia
Memorabilia are items that remind you of people, places, moments, or events that have had some significance to you. Whether it is a ticket stub from your favorite concert or an autograph from your idol;p memorabilia are meant to be collected and cherished because they make memories tangible. Framed photos make beautiful memorabilia by giving your favorites a home on your wall. You can choose the size, frame, and other details to match your overall decor scheme.
2. Personal History
When framed photos are strategically placed around your home, they become a timeline of sorts that tells the story of your life. When you look at where and how you choose to display each picture, it can give off subtle clues as to what is most important to you and what events have made the biggest impact on your life. The way things are arranged is not by accident. It's a map to finding your way back to the most beautiful memory of all, "the past."
3.Damage Protection
Framed pictures are somewhat protected against damage. If you have kids, pets, or just happen to be a little clumsy, this is an added benefit that can't be overlooked. When framed using archival materials and UV protective glass or acrylic, framing protects photos against environmental conditions, so the colors of your favorite photos won't fade or dull over time.
4. Statement Pieces
Framed photos are the most flexible and easily customizable photo decorating option. Depending on your style and theme, you can choose any frame to enclose your pictures without worrying that they won't mesh with the rest of your space. They don't just add personality and flair to your décor and memorabilia collection; they also open up a whole world of possibilities as far as customization goes.

Important Announcement
Happy New Year to all of our devoted customers! We wouldn’t have made it 12 years in business without your continuous support. So, THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts.
We have some big news to share, but before we do, we wanted to reflect on our past.
Amanda & I left our jobs, 12 years ago (at just 26 & 28 years old) and moved to Ruston on a wing and a prayer, in hopes of starting a small business that we dreamed of for years. We loved Ruston while studying at Louisiana Tech, and we found the perfect excuse for moving back. Our hopes were to provide the best art supplies & fine art printing to the local community and college students. You helped us fulfill that dream, and then some!
Over time, our services grew to include artwork reproduction, photo & negative scanning, photo restoration, mounting and laminating, canvas printing, custom framing, laser engraving, and more. As you can imagine, we outgrew our location at the old corner drug store and we moved up the street to where we are now. As our services continue to grow, so does our need to focus.
This June, after the Peach Festival, we will be making a huge change. We will be releasing the art supply part of the business to, the newly opened, Creative Exchange (112 W. Alabama Ave). This decision was not made lightly. We have lost a lot of sleep, but we know this would be the best way for us to focus on our great services.
Dylan & Ryan at Creative Exchange have an immense love for the arts and the artists who create it. We feel that they will be great stewards and continue those relationships that we have thoroughly enjoyed for over a decade.
We will continue to have space for artists and makers to showcase their work. Custom orders for art supplies, kits, etc will continue until June.
We greatly appreciate your continued support and we wish the best of luck to Dylan & Ryan in their new endeavor.
Thank you, again, for your love and support.
Sincerely,
Henry & Amanda McCoy
