Changing things up

We Are Open!

After weeks of being closed, we are back open with our summer hours of 10am to 5pm on Monday through Friday. As a small business, the forced closure hit us and other small businesses hard. Some of our fellow businesses were not able to make it through these uncertain times. Please continue to support your small businesses and your community.

New Additions!

We are adding some new items to the store this summer. Summer Hammons of Hammons Nest, previously known as My Happy Place, will be stocking Dixie Belle Paint here starting next week. She is in the process of closing her business, but she wanted to continue to offer Dixie Belle Paint to her customers in the area. She reached out to us about stocking it at Fine Line and we thought it would be a great addition. We can’t wait to meet her customers at Fine Line!

You’ve asked and we’ve listened! We will be adding some more fun gift items to the store as well as new art supplies. There may be a little chaos over the next few weeks as we rearrange to make room, so please be patient with us.

Rewards Program Ending

And now the sad news. We have decided to end our rewards program. While the rewards program was free to our customers, the program was a paid service for us. Aside from the free stuff and cash discounts we offered through the program, it was a high monthly fee that we can’t carry any longer. Due to the lack of participation in the program and the loss of income from the coronavirus shutdown, we have decided to shelve this for now. You can redeem remaining points until the end of July.

There is a silver lining though! We are in the process of slashing prices throughout the store. In order to compete with online giants and keep an option for quality art supplies locally, we are offering everyday discounts on all of your favorite supplies. For example, paints, brushes, and canvases are up to 50% off everyday with prices matching or beating the big box stores.

As always, just because we don’t have it on the shelf, doesn’t mean we can’t get it. We are happy to help with custom orders from a tube of paint to ginormous stretched canvases.

We Are Open

After a short hiatus for 'rona, we are back open, but with a few temporary changes. We will be open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 2pm. We will continue to offer curbside pickup as well. Please call the store to place your order before you arrive so that we have time to pull the supplies.

Print and laser engraving orders are still being processed, but you may see a slight delay in turnaround times. Custom framing orders are still on hold as we wait for our suppliers to reopen. Framing consultations are still available but by appointment only. You can schedule a time to meet or you can drop off your artwork during open hours to schedule a video consultation later.

We ask for your patience during this transition period.

Art ON 45 - Art Reception and Auction

We are excited to be hosting the 5th edition of ART ON 45 exhibit. The show is currently hanging in the store. The reception and auction are on Saturday, March 14th from 6 - 8:30pm. Christiane Drieling does a fantastic job of putting on this show every year.

ART ON 45 is a unique fundraising art project which has been increasingly popular and successful because it honors both - the artists and the community.

In short, this is what ART ON 45 is about: Visual artists of all genres are asked to make a piece of art on or with a 45rpm record. Numerous fantastic artists from all over Louisiana and even from other states have participated, and it is fascinating to see their exquisite works each year.

Forty pieces are selected for a juried show and documentation in the 2020 ART ON 45 book. At the auction, the art pieces are individually sold, and together with one copy of the book.

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of ART ON 45, the two-week exhibit will not only showcase the new original works but also reproductions of the 150 pieces from the four previous years. Also, guests will be able to bid on a bundle of all five ART ON 45 books signed by all contributing artists of the last five years.

Bruce Gay, the 2018 NCLAC Artist of the Year, will join the event with the Fiddlin' Tim Trio and Mionne Destiny for a special treat!

Beneficiary of the auction will be "The Exchange," a special nonprofit program of the Ross Lynn Foundation. "The Exchange" works to support and guide area nonprofits by bringing opportunity and collaboration to North Louisiana. At its heart, the Exchange is drawing people together to improve the community – our community.

The event has been a wonderful opportunity for artists and art lovers to meet and greet, to buy and collect unique pieces of art, and to enjoy a fabulous evening in downtown Ruston. The event is free to the public; there is no admission.
